Birdie is a Danish fresh air monitor founded in 2022 by childhood friends Andreas Kofoed Sørensen and Hans Høite Augustenborg, who grew up in Hellebæk north of Copenhagen. It updates the canary in the coal mine: when a Swiss CO2 sensor detects stale air, the little bird tips over on its perch and stays down until you open a window. There is no app, light or sound, just a sculptural nudge to ventilate. Shown here in the original canary Yellow.
