A stark and soft presence at once. With the Impermanence lights, we ventured into metalwork for the first time. Their presence can advance or recede throughout the day, yet they remain structurally anchoring to the space. At night, a fine shimmer of light slips through either side of the leather front, extending the grounding presence of the lamps beyond the confines of their stainless steel walls.
Process insight: Pencil sketches and paper templates on one hand; feeling and apprehending the presence of steel on the other, with leather sought as a soft companion, shaped a highly sensorial process in the development of this piece.
